Oshio College of Acupuncture & Herbology is committed to supporting international students as they transition into academic life in Canada. To help ensure a smooth and informed start, the College provides a structured orientation program for all new international students prior to the start of their first term.

Welcome Ceremony & Orientation Session

All incoming international students are invited to attend a pre-term Welcome Ceremony, which serves as both a warm introduction to the College and a comprehensive orientation session. This event is led by school administrators and staff and includes:

A formal welcome from the Principal and College leadership

Overview of academic expectations, course structure, and classroom etiquette

Introduction to student services, college policies, and support contacts

Guidance on living in Victoria, BC — including housing, shopping, transportation, and health care

Practical tips on local culture and adapting to life in Canada

Q&A session with staff and student ambassadors

Welcome Video & Pre-arrival Preparation

To support students who may not be able to attend in person or wish to prepare in advance, the College provides a Welcome Orientation Video, available online before the beginning of each term. The video includes essential information about:

Your program and learning outcomes

How to access student resources (library, clinic, academic support)

Immigration and health insurance basics

Life in Victoria as a student

Ongoing Support

Even after the orientation, students continue to receive guidance from our administrative team, faculty, and student ambassadors. We encourage students to reach out at any time with questions about academics, daily life, or cultural adjustment.
