Personal Philosophy
Mr. Lyu’s life journey exemplifies the harmonious blending of strength and adaptability:
“Born in the northwest with the strength of metal, tempered by the fluidity of water while living in Beijing, I was shaped by both traditional Chinese culture and Western scientific thought. Upon moving to North America, I reconnected deeply with the essence of traditional Chinese medicine—realizing that the vital force of wood (growth and renewal) nourishes all other elements: sustaining water, fueling fire, nurturing earth, and tempering metal. Inspired by the wisdom of the I Ching and other classical traditions, I believe that traditional Chinese medicine will continue to thrive across generations, safeguarding the health and vitality of humanity.”
Teaching Philosophy
Mr. Lyu is dedicated to preserving the enduring wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine while embracing the innovations of modern clinical science.
He inspires students to respect classical theories, think critically, and cultivate a compassionate, holistic approach to patient care. He encourages aspiring practitioners to follow in the footsteps of Zhang Zhongjing, the great medical sage—studying diligently, drawing knowledge from diverse sources, and extracting the essence of ancient texts in light of contemporary clinical needs.
