Education Background

Dr. Jing Zhang completed her academic and clinical training at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of China’s most renowned institutions for TCM education.

She holds a Bachelor of Medicine degree in Acupuncture and Moxibustion (5-year program), a Master of Medicine degree specializing in the integration of TCM and modern medicine (3-year program), and a Ph.D. in Internal Medicine of TCM (3-year program).

Professional Experience

Dr. Zhang brings rich clinical and teaching experience from both China and Canada. From 1999 to 2008, Dr. Zhang worked as a TCM doctor, acupuncturist, and teacher at the Teaching Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM. She is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac), Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCM.P), and Doctor of TCM (Dr.TCM) in British Columbia, Canada. Since September 2008, she has been engaged in TCM teaching and clinical practice in Canada.

She teaches foundational and advanced courses in traditional Chinese medicine at Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbology, equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of both classical TCM theories and modern clinical applications.
Her clinical practice focuses on holistic patient care, integrating traditional therapies with evidence-based approaches.

Areas of Specialization
Applying traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and related therapies including diet therapy, lifestyle adjustment, etc. to practice holistic wellness.

Teaching Philosophy

Dr. Zhang is passionate about integrating rigorous academic foundations with practical clinical training. She believes that having a solid foundation theory, proficient clinical operation ability, and good communication methods are the basic qualities for becoming a TCM practitioner.
